<title>PSC Participates in National Consumer Protection Week</title>

<title>PSC Approves Conservation Demonstration and Development Program</title>

<description>Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) today approved a Conservation Demonstration and Development (CDD) Program for the state’s seven investor-owned natural gas utilities, which are members of the Associated Gas Distributors of Florida trade association.The CDD Program allows the utilities, known as Local Distribution Companies (LDC), to jointly support research and development, demonstration, and monitoring of projects that promote energy efficiency and conservation.  The CDD Program has a five-year cap of $2 million and a per project cap of $400,000.“Using resources wisely is critical, and this program has the potential to eliminate duplicate projects and reduce administrative costs,” said PSC Chairman Nancy Argenziano.  “In addition, we hope to see an increase in the number and variety of projects completed.” The seven LDCs include Florida City Gas, Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, Florida Public Utilities Company, Indiantown Gas Company, Peoples Gas Company, Sebring Gas System, and St. Joe Natural Gas Company.The PSC is committed to making sure that Florida's consumers receive their electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater services in a safe, affordable, and reliable manner.
